The IDU is an integrated Nexus Alpha product. The system comprises modular components that can be easily maintained and we have carried out all the industrial, electronic and software design & coding in-house.

It uses daylight-viewable 15" TFT LCD technology giving very high definition output with a wide viewing angle. Automatic brightness control allows the system to adjust to ambient lighting levels.

The units have full audio capabilities with state-of-the-art flat speakers. Locally-held recorded speech (in multiple languages if required) is used to build up complete sentences for announcement.

The units are fabricated out of stainless steel, making them impervious to rust, and highly vandal resistant.

The colour finish of the IDUs can be customised to fit with the environment or with Corporate livery.

Built for reliability, an internal environment control unit ensures the Intelligent Display Unit will operate at extremes of temperature as low as -15C and as high as 40C.

Communication is flexible, allowing messages to be sent from the Nexus Alpha Tyrell system to IDUs via LAN connection, using bespoke wireless communications, data pager, GSM devices, or dial-up modem. This flexibility can dramatically reduce communication infrastructure costs.
